Lore: Nights Bite Cult

Image
Nights Bite Cult Carved Teeth, the only known Holy symbol of Nights Bite One of the many cults hiding quietly among the common folk of Malteria, however vastly more prevalent in Norastrah. These seemingly normal commoners believe in a deity by the name of Nights Bite, a sickly perversion of Gleshmere. Said to the be the left over shadow of when Gleshmere took a bite out of the River Fish mistaking it for a evil monster. Though outside the cult there is no theological evidence shown in either the proper Glashmerian religion nor either of the Fish faiths. The cults fixation is with the only piece of evidence that has been confirmed,  large tooth, the size of a small hill in fact that they gather around to worship. Said to be the fang Gleshmere lost when he failed to pierce the River Fishes hid. Some fore draws them to the tooth, Night Bite. The profile of the "God" seems to be vague at best, however it does have a few aspects. Night is the true home of life and thus mo...

Lore: The Red Sword of Ythr

The Red Sword of Ythr is one of the most powerful magical artifacts to have ever been crafted by human hands. It was created two cycles ago now, by the hands of master artificers in the smithies in the heart of Ythr, the capital of Human Gleshmere and the lost cultural home of humans the world over. The Ythrians were renowned for their research into the higher mysteries of the realms, breaking into hundreds of outer planes, exploiting each one for its resources to use in ever more advanced and esoteric magical rites. The Red Sword was a culminating achievement in the arts of transdimensional metallurgy, polydimensional abjuration, and psychosomatic connection. It was given by the smiths of Ythr to the High Magos of Ythr at the Ceremony of Union, when the Pridesmen of Mounbreath finally pledged their axes and knowledge to the furtherance of humanities destiny.  Such was the artifact's power that it was placed in the arms of a statue created from the cemented ash of ten thousa...

Lore: The Khalaks

The Khalaks are a collective of reptilian and amphibious species that live in the Hearthyoke Jungle in Southern Malteria. They believe that they are all descendants of a single 1st Cycle Civilization which they refer to simply as "The Precursors". Evidence of the precursors can be found scattered all around the Jungles, and forests of Southern Malteria, in the form of vast crumbling complexes haunted with the wisping energies of high magic. Most notable of these places is the  House of Khalash , a truly massive series of spires, ziggurats and labyrinthine underground complexes that worms through much of the Blacktooth Mountains.  Rigati'Ta The Rigati'Ta are one of the most populous of the Khalak subspecies, they exsist as the primary driving labor force for agricultural production, and building. In the religious understandings of the Khalaks, the Rigati'Ta are the physical embodiment of Father Khalash's arms and his legs, the vital mechanisms by whi...
