Carved Teeth, the only known Holy symbol of Nights Bite

One of the many cults hiding quietly among the common folk of Malteria, however vastly more prevalent in Norastrah. These seemingly normal commoners believe in a deity by the name of Nights Bite, a sickly perversion of Gleshmere. Said to the be the left over shadow of when Gleshmere took a bite out of the River Fish mistaking it for a evil monster. Though outside the cult there is no theological evidence shown in either the proper Glashmerian religion nor either of the Fish faiths.

The cults fixation is with the only piece of evidence that has been confirmed,  large tooth, the size of a small hill in fact that they gather around to worship. Said to be the fang Gleshmere lost when he failed to pierce the River Fishes hid. Some fore draws them to the tooth, Night Bite. The profile of the "God" seems to be vague at best, however it does have a few aspects. Night is the true home of life and thus most cultist are only active during the night. Teeth are the truest weapons of man and best alike, and are treated like holy relics. Finally that all things are meant to be consumed, if only partly. The last tenet has lead many to suspect this cult as being lead by some aspect of Groth, though the idea that such a malicious deity sees wide worship even by proxy is seen as dangerous to officials.

Fangs of Nights Bite

Dressing in bones, fangs, claws and other discarded parts of those they have consumed, The Fangs of Night Bite are the largest sect of the cult. Based in Norastrah proper they remain still one of, if not the most concerning issues for the city. A source of crime from murder, kidnapping, sacrifice, cannibalism and even smuggling in and out of the city. The definition of scum and villainy one might think, however they also are one of the fastest growing religious cults in the River Lands by virtue of how accepting they are. You see they follow their tenets very closely. Among them being the sanctuary members of the cult have as well the protection of the Fangs. the rise of the cult surged during the period when Norastrah held waning control over its lands due to prolonged conflict with the Dark Wardens. Public opinion from the people is highly mixed ranging from concern those not in the cult will be it's next victims, ambivalence over them as they could be seen as just another faction among many in the coming age, and in many peoples eyes the only constant of protection and leadership when all official channels fell.

Around the time the River Lords lost Luthericburgs support in the on going conflict with the Dark Wardens, due largely in part to their own esoteric conflict of their own, Norastrah saw a large increase in banditry and raids by highwaymen and Dark Warden units. Many civilians were lost during this time and public opinion of the Norastrahan government was spiraling downwards. And then on one fateful day, due to some stroke of luck, a small, yet critical, convenient happenstance occurred. Norastrah was attacked by a large force of Dark Wardens. A rogue unit who thought they could take the city while it was weak and broke orders to take their chance. They started their attack from wall section facing out toward the Bleakwood, a side of the city largely residential, hoping to slaughter the masses and lower moral in a shock and awe approach. However about that stroke luck, it happened that on this day a illegal celebration was being held by the Nights Bite cult, a small gathering in the vein of a wedding called a Culling. Were members of both families hold mock fights to determine the new order of the newly formed family. It just so happened the two families were not just ordinary civilians. One was a powerful family from the house of lords and the other a high ranking family born from the cult. Both of which had brought their entire guard regimen with them to the event. Nothing the officials could to stop such an amassed group of armed forces with all the cities guards out in the field. At the peak of this celebration is when the Dark Wardens sacked the city, and were meet by the force of the two gathered families. After a long fought battle with few causalities the Cultist won the day. And most of the residential area was witness to this battle. After that the coming days saw call for the House of Lords official to be raised to head of the House, and for the cult to be recognized as a true religion, some radicals even called for it to become the official of Norastrah though that could have very well been movements by cultist. Whatever the case for the out cries one thing was for certain after, what is now commonly called, The Culling; Norastrah would suffer more splintering in it's leadership in the coming days, and that the Nights Bite could no longer simply be ignored.
